Planning a World Tour season

The next event matters. So does the condition you bring to the one after it.

Start with the calendar

A World Tour run follows one player or pair through a season. Events offer opportunities to earn points, while the standings show your place in the race to the Finals. Before entering, look at your current condition and the events ahead. A long run this week can affect the choices available next week.

Fatigue makes recovery a real choice

Playing adds fatigue, and time off helps recovery. This applies to your entrant and to AI opponents. A high rating does not remove the demands of a busy schedule, and facing a familiar opponent later in the season can feel different because their condition has changed.

For example, after a demanding tournament, another immediate entry offers more chances for points but also more strain. Taking a break gives up that opportunity in exchange for recovery. Neither choice guarantees a better finish. The useful question is how the decision fits your remaining season, rather than whether every possible event can be played.

What an injury means in the game

Higher fatigue increases injury risk. An injury ends a match by retirement and requires seven full calendar days of recovery. That can force an event skip, including a mandatory event. The same recovery rules apply to AI entrants; recovered players can return to competition.

A retirement is not a normal completed scoreline. The recorded score shows where play stopped. If an entrant withdraws during the Finals, remaining matches can be conceded. These are fictional game mechanics for planning a season, not advice about a real athlete's health or recovery.

Read the Finals race carefully

The game highlights eight qualifying places, with at most two entries from one country. Sorting the standings helps you compare points, titles, or other columns; it does not change the official order used by the game.

If you miss qualification, you can still simulate the Finals and see the champion and full results. Your entrant does not receive appearance credit or points for a tournament they did not enter. A season can still tell a worthwhile story even when it ends outside the top eight.
