How to play
Pick a legend. Enter the draw. See how far your choices take you.
1. Choose a mode and draft your entry
Start with Easy to see player ratings or Hard to hide them. Then choose Individual or Team. Individual play covers men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles. You can enter a single tournament or keep one player or pair throughout a World Tour season.
The draft reveals five offers at a time. Choose one card for the current slot. Each card belongs to a particular season, so the year matters as well as the name. In team events, fill the required singles and doubles positions before starting.
2. Play the draw, rally by rally
Start your next match from the tournament screen. The playback shows the current game score, games won, and commentary for each rally. Use Pause, change the speed from 0.5× to 8×, or choose Skip to result.
Skipping fills in the complete rally log, including the rallies you did not watch. It does not roll a new result. Closing the playback pauses it; use Resume match to return. After a match, continue to the next round, inspect the bracket, or view the tournament results when your run ends.
A completed match is best of three games. A game normally ends at 21, with a two-point lead required after 20–20 and a maximum score of 30. Injury retirements can end a match before the usual finish.
3. Plan a World Tour season
Earn points by entering events and progressing through their draws. Your calendar and standings show the route towards the season-ending Finals. Expand the rankings for more space, then select a column heading to sort by rank, player, points, events played, titles, win percentage, or Finals place.
Every event is a trade-off between opportunities and recovery. Fatigue affects your player or pair and the AI field. More fatigue means a greater injury risk. An injury causes a match retirement and seven full calendar days of recovery, which can force an event skip. The recovery requirement also applies to mandatory events.
The standings highlight eight Finals places, with at most two entries from one country. Table sorting helps you compare the field; it does not change qualification.
If you miss qualification, choose Simulate World Tour Finals to run all 15 matches and view the champion, groups, semifinals, and final. If you play another event during the Finals window, the Finals run in the background and their champion and results still appear at the end of your season.
4. Build a Cup team
The Thomas Cup uses three men's singles and two men's doubles slots. The Uber Cup uses three women's singles and two women's doubles slots. The Sudirman Cup combines men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.
A team tie consists of individual matches called rubbers. Follow your group's standings and the knockout bracket, and open a rubber to watch its rally playback.
