QUICK ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

The essentials, from your first draft to the final rally.

Is 21–0 free to play?

Yes. This version is free to play in your browser, with no account, subscription, or in-game purchases.

Which badminton events can I play?

Play men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, or mixed doubles. Team modes include the Thomas Cup, Uber Cup, and Sudirman Cup. Individual modes offer a single knockout tournament or a World Tour season.

What is a player-year card?

A card represents a player or pair in a particular season. The pool spans 1990–2026, so two cards for the same player can have different ratings. The game lets players from different eras meet in a simulated draw.

Do I need an account, and is my progress saved?

No account is needed. On the public site, completed game actions are saved automatically. Choose Continue saved game on the same browser to resume after refreshing or returning later. Saves expire after 30 inactive days. Clearing browser storage removes your resume access; starting another game replaces the saved-game shortcut. Rally playback resumes from the completed match result, not the exact animation position.

Can I skip rally playback?

Yes. Skip to result completes the remaining rally log and commentary while keeping the same match result. You can also pause, resume, or choose a playback speed from 0.5× to 8×. Closing the playback window pauses it.

What is the difference between Easy and Hard?

Easy shows player ratings during the draft. Hard hides them, so you choose using the player, season, and your badminton knowledge. Hard does not give opponents a separate scoring advantage.

Can a match finish 21–0?

Yes, but it is not guaranteed. Games normally go to 21 points, with a two-point lead needed from 20–20 and a cap at 30. A completed match is best of three games; an injury retirement can end it early.

Why does a higher-rated player sometimes lose?

Ratings influence the chances of winning rallies; they do not fix the outcome. Match form, game form, opponent history, and random variation can produce upsets. World Tour fatigue also changes the challenge across a season.

How do fatigue and injuries work?

In the World Tour, playing adds fatigue and time off helps recovery. Higher fatigue increases injury risk for both your entrant and AI opponents. An injury ends the match by retirement and requires seven full calendar days of recovery, which can force you to skip events.

How do I qualify for the World Tour Finals?

Earn season points through World Tour events. The standings highlight the eight qualifying places, with a maximum of two entries per country. Sorting the table changes its display order, not the official ranking or qualification rules.

What happens if I do not qualify for the Finals?

The eight qualifiers still play. Choose Simulate World Tour Finals to run the 12 group matches, two semifinals, and final, then see the champion and complete results. The Finals also run in the background if you enter a parallel event. Their champion appears in your season results, and your player does not receive Finals appearance credit or points.

Can I play against another person?

This version is single-player against simulated opponents. It does not include online multiplayer, ranked accounts, or a public player leaderboard.

Is 21–0 an official BWF game?

No. It is an independent, unofficial game and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Badminton World Federation, competitions, teams, or players. Ratings, schedules, and results are part of the simulation.

Does the game use cookies or analytics?

The application does not set cookies or include advertising or analytics trackers. It stores your latest campaign identifier and game settings in localStorage so you can continue on the same browser. Game state is saved on the server, which also writes request logs. The privacy policy explains those details.
